Well, today is my Mother's birthday. We won't discuss either of our ages. But I can say she has raised 10 children and still working on raising the 11th. If you think there is a difference in the ages of my oldest to my youngest then you should know that her oldest is 49 and her youngest is 8 years old. So, you might ask do I follow in my mothers foot steps and the answer would be not so close. Although, I do remember many of my mothers saying. Growing up we always say we don't want to be anything like our mothers but as we grow we find that little by little we are always copying them. My children always hear the wise quotes of my Mother!
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
"Never ask of someone something, that you would not be willing youself to give or do."
Happy Birthday to my beautiful Mother who has held on to her youthful looks!

Thank you for the Birthday Wish!
"Good people are not made out of good times but out of bad times."
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
The dissapointments that rock our lives---the "what might have been's "--are indeed hard times....sometimes harder than death itself. I don't think God sends these to us, but I do believe he can provide grace that will carry is through the hard times and turn disappointments into glorious victories.
ReplyDeleteWell said, they make us appreciate the good times even more.
ReplyDeleteI heard myself quoting Mom the other day, My David was doing somthing wrong because his friend was doing it and I said "If your friend jumped off a cliff would you jump off it too?" and as the words were coming out of my mouth, I thought to myself, I am my mother's child. I hear her words and see her actions in alot of things I say and do. I love you Mom and Happy Birthday.
ReplyDeleteI have known this woman for fifty years and my opinion she is top of the line. Like her, I have raised 10+ kids. and I am proud to say they are all like their mother. Who am I?
ReplyDeleteI have no Idea who the 540 year old with 10 kids is .. let us know.....

ReplyDeleteWE ALL LOVE YOU ..HAPPY BIRTHDAY MA !!
ReplyDeleteHey this is the right verison............
ReplyDeleteWell, OK for my younger siblings when I hear them all talk, about how great of a ma we have I can't help but think how my younger siblings need to give us older kids a "thank you" for breaking mom in for them were the ones taught her and dad all them nice qualities of being a good parents .
Especially the ones involving patience, bearing of provocation, annoyance of knowing it all, overcoming misfortune, like the of loss "treasures", or muddy underground pools lined with brand new blue carpet, mud pies, or needless painful games with endless ER trips,, or "apple cord- who do you hit". The cow-patties they were always was a interesting weapon of choice that with out a doubt ended up in the washer a few times after the last nights attempted at cow tipping.
Billy and I were the main ones that broke her in for "you all". who brag about how mom ..without complaint, loss of temper, who is filled with enduring words of wisdom or how we are so lucky to have such a great mom . If it where not for us you wouldn't have such a good Ma.. We think you all should thank us ; we not only taught her patience , she has implyed we taught her about the power of prayer .
We have heard a lot of her good words of wisdom too also she taught us to pray......" Lord" ..."William, quit hitting your sister",. "help me Lord"..."You should keep your clothes on in public" .."...don't you dare".."wisdom please",."OH Lord, Debbie pull the fork back out of your brothers back, now", " Oh God,.."Have mercy" ... Christyal stop tossing the twins down the laundry shoot" ,, "Lord help me" ..."No,, it will hurt them;; ahhhhhh.... it goes downstairs to the basement",,,{{ {and Ma taught me the importance of prayer}}} " you better pray to God you didn't break your sisters necks ",...{{{.and the need for prayer }}}"or you will not be able to sit for a week", God help that child before I,,,, Jesus,,Now whaattt noooooooo ,,,,,CHRIST'YALL l l l l llllll !!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MA !!! WE ALL LOVE YOU !!
Well, I think I know who the person is that has known Mom for 50 years aka 540 years. First I thought maybe a brother or sister but we know Mom is at least more than 1 year older than Debbie so they would have known her more than 50 years and less than 540. So, who else knows us children well enough to know we are like Mom? Who else has 10+ children? My guess would be DAD!! The only problem with this is it brings me to another addition problem. Debbie 49 years 1 month + 10 months of pregnancy = 49 years and 11 months that is so close to a shot gun wedding.
ReplyDeleteHMMMMMMMM maybe it is not dad.

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all the wonderful Birthday Wishes. Thanks for all your kind words. All the wisdom comes from my Mother and my grand parents. Especially Granny Lou who had raised 14 of her own children and had much wisdom beyond her years. Mother would often say, "By the grace of God and bare feet do we make it another day!" When your finger are sore from knitting, hoeing in the garden, canning all day , picking berries for hours in the hot sun, mending clothes and watching the children, helping care for 13,000 chichen getting ready for the market, milking 40 head of cattle, hauling milk to the factory. Days of never ending work. Yet, never ending love for the most precious gift that God ever gave anyone ..beautiful children.. The most wonderful children on this earth.. Thanks so much..
ReplyDeleteChrist'yal here is our thanks. Thanks to sience for coming up with Tubals. Thanks to politicians for allowing the ability of adoption to be so readily avaible. But most of all Thanks to the Lord for hearing Moms prayers and keeping her out of the Mental Institution until she got the older children raised and out on their own.
ReplyDeleteSee Mom another wise saying you gave. "Gods answers your prayers but in his own time not yours."
Kind'a funny when I thought all my children was raised and I was like Sarah and Abraham God gave me another child. He is 8 year old now. And, of course spoiled by all his "siblings." God knew they would love another little brother. Well, last night he had heard about my Birthday and saw no cake on the table! "Here he came in the house with a big board with a beautiful mud cake on it, a whole lot of sticks lite for candles and was singing "Happy Birthday." God still has a sence of humor, doesn't he?? LOL (Little Robert was covered in mud from head to toe..)
ReplyDeleteGuess you will have to wait until summer to bath him because it is to cold outsite right now and it will take you till summer to clean it out of the tub anyway. At least bathing him outside will be recycling all that dirt!
ReplyDeletegrandma is a pretty neat ,,,,,, Happy birthday ,love you
